As an R&D-oriented company, our manufacturing of product have always been supported by the knowledge and experience required to assure the high level standards. What makes it all possible is the powerful suite of original technologies developed and cultivated through our experience in pursuing our customers' leading-edge demands. These comprehensive, high performance microtechnologies include the wire drawing technology, the wire forming technology, coating technology and the torque technology. What sets ASAHI INTECC apart is that these four technologies are at the core of our products and are expertly combined as required to ensure the best characteristics of each product.

The wires used as the core of PTCA guidewires and braid wires embedded in the PTCA guiding catheters are applied our highly accurate wire drawing technology. The most critical aspect of drawing technology is the "die" - a component with a diameter of about 2.5 cm that has a micrometric-level hole in the middle. The hole in each die is made of diamond, but it still wears through use. To manage and maintain the high accuracy of the hole shape of die, ASAHI INTECC introduced a high-accuracy die shape inspection system to measure the shape of the hole in the center of die at the sub-micrometric scale. This wire drawing process forms the basis of our products, and strict quality control of this process ensures production of highly accurate medical device parts with minimal errors.

The distal end of PTCA guidewires is provided with a flexible coil structure to prevent damage to vessels. ASAHI INTECC's wire forming technology is used to manufacture the coiling structure. ASAHI INTECC forms wires into various shapes at the micrometric scale and applies these in its products, including the above-mentioned coil as well as the wire braids (fabricated by braiding wires with diameters from 30 to 60 μm and embedded inside the resin tubes of catheters) used in the PTCA guiding catheters, angiographic catheters and microcatheters.

ASAHI INTECC's medical devices are highly evaluated in the market thanks to their excellent torque performance. ASAHI INTECC's unique treatment facilities and special torque technology provide ideal torque performance to the wires. Unmatched torque performance is incorporated in ASAHI INTECC's guidewires and catheters, ensuring the excellent maneuverability.
